Achievements and Activities:
The biggest achievement of our office would be leading our university to be a responsible and sustainable university.
The Office of Sustainability has:
- Collaborated and organized a live watch party/screening of 24 hours of reality with the climate reality project (TCRP), USA
- Organized a screening of an animated movie “The Lorax by Dr Seuss” in the context of awareness regarding the importance of trees
- Participated in UIGM international ranking since 2018 and is scoring a remarkable position
- Has held a weekly program on radio FM 92.6 UCP ki Duniya in the context of sustainability UN-SDGs, Environmental issues and climate change
- Represented UCP at international forums and national print and electronic media in regards to SDGs
- Collaborated on a plantation drive with the Ministry of forest Government of Pakistan Organized a seminar on “Save the Earth, there is no Planet B” collaboration of Ministry of Climate Change, Government of Pakistan
- Organized a seminar on climate change issues in Pakistan with Provincial Ministry for Environment Protection, Government of Pakistan.
Interactive Discussion Session - Students with Special Needs:
To ensure the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals, Office of Sustainability-UCP along with the Administration department, has taken the initiative of sensitizing special students with UN-SDGs and ensuring the creation of new opportunities for them. For the said purpose, an interactive discussion session with special students of University of Central Punjab was conducted on Friday December 30th, 2022.The session was convened by Mr. Amjad Niaz, Director Administration along with Ms. Javaria Qais Joiya, Director Sustainability. Eight special students participated in the session and shared their experience. Assistant Director Admin, Mr. Umair Maqbool and Director Securities, Major Naveed were also present at the session. The session was concluded on the resolution of taking practical steps towards the realization of SDGs and providing an opportunity to the special students to become an active and productive part of the society.
